Our Story
Fonseca Pro Series isn’t just a company—it’s a family’s mission, born from a love for baseball and softball and fueled by a relentless desire to help players reach their full potential. As a family-owned and operated business, our purpose has always been clear: to make professional-level training equipment accessible to athletes at every stage of their journey. While we didn’t invent training bats, we poured our hearts into perfecting them, guided by the wisdom of big league coaches. Today, our bats are trusted by Major League teams and top-tier Division 1 Colleges and have been used by the U.S. Women’s National Softball Team. But more than just a tool for refining skill, every bat we craft carries the spirit of the game—the drive, the grit, and the unwavering love for baseball and softball. Every bat is American-made, hand-painted, and designed to help players unlock their power and speed.
The story of Fonseca Pro Series is, at its core, the story of Ben Fonseca. A man who didn’t just live baseball—he breathed it, taught it, and shared it with everyone he met. Ben’s journey in the sport was extraordinary, building a coaching résumé that few could match. He led teams to championships across the Babe Ruth Leagues, AABC, the World Wood Bat National Championship-PG USA, and collegiate baseball at the Junior College and Division 1 levels. His expertise extended to professional baseball as well, serving as a coach and player development director for the Somerset Patriots. He even attended Major League scout school and scouted for the Milwaukee Brewers. Those who knew Ben understood his brilliance—Joe Klein, former General Manager of the Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, and Detroit Tigers, once said, “Ben is qualified for every position available to him. He is a great worker and an even better ambassador of the game.”

But in 2017, life threw Ben a curveball he could never have prepared for. He was diagnosed with Progressive Systemic Scleroderma, an incurable autoimmune disease that would ultimately claim his life. Yet, even as his body battled against him, his heart remained unshaken. He refused to let the disease define him, and instead, he dedicated his remaining years to what he loved most—coaching, mentoring, and ensuring that every athlete had access to the tools they needed to succeed. His dream of getting a high-quality training bat into the hands of every baseball and softball player became more than just a goal—it became his purpose.
Despite the pain, despite the challenges, Ben traveled the country with his family by his side, visiting ballparks, offering free hitting demonstrations, and sharing his wealth of knowledge with players of all ages. His passion was contagious, and his family couldn’t help but be swept up in his dream.
On December 23, 2023, Ben Fonseca took his final breath, leaving behind not just a grieving family, but a mission they were determined to carry forward. His dream did not end with him—it became his family’s legacy.
His three sons, Benny, Mason, and Sage, now stand ready to relaunch Fonseca Pro Series, carrying their father’s vision into the future. “I want to focus on delivering high-quality training bats to ballplayers at every level to help them develop proper hitting habits,” says Benny. “I also want to keep my father’s dream alive, knowing that an idea this valuable should not go to waste.” Mason echoes that sentiment: “Fonseca Pro Series is part of my legacy, and my dad’s dream was to get his product into the hands of softball and baseball players everywhere.” And Sage, the youngest, holds onto the same fire: “I want to carry on Fonseca Pro Series to fulfill my dad’s dream of having all softball and baseball players using his training bats.”
Ben Fonseca was more than a coach, more than a mentor—he was a visionary. And now, his vision lives on through the hands of his family, through every bat that finds its way into a player’s grip, through every swing taken in pursuit of greatness.
Fonseca Pro Series is not just about training bats. It’s about heart, resilience, and the unbreakable bond between a father, his family, and the game he loved.
